The evening of 11th May 2009 was a triumphant one for Sheffield law students Aimee Hutchinson and Jayne Brayley. They were competing in the quarter-finals of the English Speaking Union/Essex Court Chambers National Mooting Competition and beat students from Leicester. Aimee and Jayne will now go through to the semi-finals with the hopes and good wishes from all at Sheffield Law School.
This is the biggest and most prestigious mooting competition in the country and the team has made it into the top four of fifty-six participating universities. The semi-finals and final will take place in London in June with the finalists mooting in the Royal Courts of Justice in front of Law Lords and Court of Appeal judges.
